Specialist OT and Counselling services are available from the comfort of your home.
Help Manage Household Dynamics and Develop the Skills
of a Child with Special Needs, during a Lockdown.

We now offer a Video-Conference based system, that provides specialist Occupational Therapy and Counselling services to children with Autism and other special needs. During lockdown, it is important that children with special needs continue with therapy and interventions to the extent possible. Whilst Brain Train’s OT-based neuro-developmental therapy cannot be provided remotely, we have a team of dedicated OT’s and counsellors that can provide children and their families valuable guidance, assistance and support.

We have two programs that are designed to work together, to help manage household dynamics and develop a child’s skills. A lockdown period can be a great opportunity to focus on helping a child transition through some key milestones like toilet training, making food choices, hygiene and even socialisation and communication.

An enforced lockdown will generate different stressors for the family. And those stressors can impact the family dynamic and a child’s behaviours, all of which are magnified within the confines of a house that you can’t leave. A negative feedback loop can result where the behaviours add even more stress, which then impacts the behaviours even more and the family unit can spiral downwards. Our Counselling services are designed to provide tools and strategies to help support the family and your special needs child and prevent the downward spiral.
